Açores on Masonry

This post is called the Açores on Masonry, because nearly everything around here is constructed with rocks. Roads, sidewalks, buildings, roads, benches, churches... What makes this ESPECIALLY cool, is that rock in the Açores are volcanic!

The road paving is really neat and done completely by hand here. They use black volcanic rock, and what honestly to me looks like white flint to pave all the small roads. I saw a group of about 8 men chipping away with small hammers on small rocks to repair part of one road. I cannot believe the designs they take the time to construct here! Just look!
